The Wall by noelstudio1

It’s been slow on the construction front lately. Received good news today, though. The wall that divides the space will come down next week, opening the Noel Studio’s core invention space on the first floor and allowing more light to enter the area closest to the University entrance. This feels like a major step in the construction process. I feel like we’ve been waiting for that wall to come down forever now.

We won’t be allowed in the space to take pictures, but we’ve discussed other options, including “helmet cam,” which would give us a first-person view. We might have to settle for pictures taken by the construction team, although we would certainly have a better chance of securing a reality TV show if we pursue “helmet cam.”

Back door access to the Crabbe Library is limited due to construction vehicles. Received updated electrical prints today for discussions about technology and hard-wired connections in the space. Construction meeting at 10am. More information to come.

On Saturday, September 19, 2009, EKU broke ground on one of the most impressive student support projects taking place in the entire country: the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity. The Noel Studio will provide an innovative learning environment that integrates writing, speaking, and research services in one central location. Once complete, the Noel Studio will offer students approximately 10,000 square feet of collaborative academic space where they can meet with consultants, practice the delivery of oral presentations, hone their research skills, or develop creative scholarly products. The Noel Studio will support the QEP’s mission of developing informed critical and creative thinkers who communicate effectively. Watch the video!
